Greens

Beats me why they don't all treat us with a modicum of intelligence and leave us to sort out our own preferences! The local Greens candidate told me (with the deepest conviction) only 2 weeks ago that the Greens figured their voters were intelligent enough to work out where to place their own preferences, and so would not be issuing any! It doesn't take too long for even Greens to become political animals does it? Personally, I can handle dim wits, I can almost tolerate idiots (they can't help it most of the time), but I ABHOR liars. They should all concentrate more on reiterating which are State, Federal & local Govt issues. I have spoken to a number of people in recent weeks who have the whole 'kit & caboodle' mixed up... particularly the young ones. I become so very angry when I hear/read ads that concentrate on bagging the opposition rather than outline policy strengths. I really don't care if one or the other of the political leaders is perceived by the other to have 'charisma' or not!!! I run a small newspaper myself, and have tried to concentrate on the issues, never once mentioning personalities of the contenders. What really gets on my goat is the prioritising the 'REAL' media place on individual issues. What have you read in the widely circulated print media, radio, or on TV about Veteran's Issues? 3/4 of 5/8 of buggar all... THAT'S WHAT! Nappies & tampons & where we'll vegetate in our Alzheimic state, seem to have more importance in this election as far as our great media circus is concerned! When will the Packers & Murdochs of this world realise that some of us are post/non menopausal but not quite ready for the grave? As I listen to & read the twaddle (read propoganda) put out by the media (& note the ommissions - like VA), my imagination works overtime on 'market diversification' for both nappies & tampons, as I feel myself getting older by the minute... (perhaps those aged care beds might be an issue of importance to me sooner than I think?). If the media could be made to take a more responsible view of Veteran's Affairs, and treat it with at least as much air time/space as these other issues, then the general public might be made to become more aware of the situation. How about 'attacking' the newspapers? Love Maz |
