OFFICE OF THE
MINISTER FOR VETERANS' AFFAIRS
MINISTER ASSISTING THE MINISTER FOR DEFENCE
Mr F J Kelly18 Hazeltine CourtYANCHEP WA 6035 Dear Mr Kelly I refer to your e-amil of 10 October 2001 to the previous Minister for Veterans' Affairs, the Hon Bruce Scott MP, about the special (Totally and Permanently Incapacitated) (T&PI) rate disability pension. The new Minister, the Hon Danna Vale MP, has asked me to respond on her behalf. The Minister is fully aware of the concerns of T&PI veterans and in line with the Coalition policy to review access to veterans' entitlements, she is currently considering arrangements for a high profile and independent review of the eligibility criteria for veterans' entitlements. The review will include an examination of issues relating to the T&PI pension. The Minister will make a public statement with respect to the forthcoming review shortly and she has asked me to thank you for bringing your concerns to her attention. Yours sincerelyPaul EvansAdvisor
